Samantha's Story

Samantha had two surgeries in one year at West Valley Medical Center.

“Originally, I simply chose West Valley because it was the closest option to my home,” said Samantha. “I was so pleased with their process, care, and staff from my first experience that I chose the hospital for my second surgery!”

Her first procedure was a laparoscopic bariatric sleeve and then she had surgery to remove her gallbladder. Her surgeon for both surgeries was Dr. David Brown, assisted by Kate Armstrong, NP-C.

“My gastric sleeve has changed my life exponentially. I have lost about 120 pounds since surgery earlier this year and continue to lose more and feel better! Life is easier and more enjoyable in so many ways, and I can do things I simply couldn't do before! This was absolutely one of the best things I've ever done for myself.”

My pre-op team explained everything that was happening and what to expect, in words I could understand. They were patient and gentle with me as I navigated through my first-ever surgeries. My post-op team couldn't have been better! They made sure I had everything I could possibly need, and they were so patient and caring with me. They had a nurse, Tommy, who even gave me a couple singing performances! Five stars all around!”
