Our imaging services
Our specialists provide inpatient and outpatient imaging services to diagnose and treat numerous acute and chronic conditions.
Types of imaging we offer
We are a Joint Commission-accredited hospital and have also been accredited by the American College of Radiology in several imaging types. Our imaging procedures are supervised and interpreted by a fellowship-trained, board-certified radiologist.
Our imaging department offers a full range of services, including:
- Computerized tomography (CT) — Combines multiple X-rays to gain detailed images of internal structures and organs
- Digital breast localization — Locates specific areas within the breast prior to surgically removing tissue, and can be performed using 3D mammography
- Fluoroscopy — Uses X-rays to help doctors visualize joints, moving organs and blood passing through veins
- Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) — Uses a high-powered magnet and radio waves to create accurate and detailed images
- Mammography — Screens for and diagnoses breast cancer through the use of X-rays
- Ultrasound — Uses sound waves to help doctors view internal organs, pregnancies, cancers, abdominal disorders, blood vessel problems and pelvic disorders
- X-ray — Helps doctors visualize bones, soft tissues and organs through the use of high-energy electromagnetic waves
Our imaging services are performed and managed in a digital environment. This means that for most routine studies, a completed report is available within hours. Your physician can review those results over a secure internet link as soon as they are available, substantially decreasing the time from diagnosis to treatment.
If your results need to be sent to a specialist or an additional physician for consultation, we will gladly accommodate your request while keeping your personal health information private and secure.
Bone density screenings
Our leading-edge bone densitometer regularly scans the hips and spine, providing improved measurement accuracy. This system significantly reduces testing time.
A bone density test allows you to:
- Determine your osteoporosis status, following a broken bone
- Examine the effectiveness of osteoporosis medicine
- Identify whether your bone density is improving, getting worse or staying the same
- Learn if you have weak bones or osteoporosis before you break a bone
Interventional radiology (IR) procedures
Our experienced interventional radiologists use minimally invasive, image-guided procedures to help administer medications, reduce recovery times and prevent blood clots in your lungs. We also provide a variety of specialized services during dialysis and long-term chemotherapy treatments, including:
- Arrangement of ports and catheters
- Distribution of pain management injections
- Evaluation and maintenance of existing arteriovenous (AV) grafts
- Installation and removal of inferior vena cava (IVC) filters
- Placement of urology catheters and stents
Women's imaging
Early detection of breast cancer is key to receiving the most effective treatment possible. Our center is equipped to provide screening and diagnostic mammograms, as well as breast ultrasounds and MRIs, at our women's imaging center.
We offer you the choice of 3D or 2D mammography. While both types of screenings are safe, 3D mammography is beneficial for viewing masses and distortions in women with dense breasts or who pose a high risk of developing breast cancer.
Schedule a mammogram today by calling us at (208) 455-3905.
3D and 4D Ultrasounds
We also offer 3D and 4D ultrasound imaging capabilities, which can produce still images in a 3D presentation, including a baby's face. Mammogram and ultrasound services are offered on an outpatient basis at our dedicated women's imaging center located on our campus across the street from the main hospital.
