Partial hospitalization
After an initial evaluation of your mental and physical health with our nurse and psychiatrist, we will create a personalized treatment plan. You will have weekly meetings with our psychiatrist to address any medication needs. In addition to group therapy, you will also have individual therapy sessions with the goal of helping you transition to ongoing therapy in the community.
Core features of our PHP include:
- Intensity — More intensive, five days a week, four hours a day
- Duration — Shorter, for two to four weeks
- Structure — Highly structured schedule focusing on coping skills and therapy groups led by licensed therapists, registered nurses and recreation therapists
- Focus — Support for those transitioning from inpatient care or as an alternative to inpatient care.
- Flexibility — Significant time commitment, limiting flexibility for work or school
Our PHP program is offered in the Family Medical Center Building on Elm Street.
Mental Health Intensive Outpatient Program (MHIOP)
Our MHIOP is similar to partial hospitalization, but with less time commitment and, despite its name, a less intensive structure. We address your mental health concerns through group therapy using different methods to either help you step down from PHP or receive more care than weekly therapy provides. Our goal is to help you break free from negative thought patterns and enhance your emotional resilience.
Features that distinguish our IOP include:
- Intensity — Less intensive, three days a week for three hours a day
- Duration — Longer, six to eight weeks
- Structure — Less-structured schedule focusing on coping skills and therapy from a licensed therapist, offering more freedom to practice new skills at home
- Focus — Support for individuals who require more intensive support than weekly therapy, but not as intensive as inpatient or partial hospitalization care
- Flexibility — More flexibility in balancing work, school and family/social life
