West Valley Medical Center is proud to announce it has been named one of Forbes’ Top Hospitals for 2026. This national recognition honors hospitals that demonstrate outstanding quality, safety, patient outcomes and patient experience.
Out of thousands of hospitals across the United States, West Valley Medical Center earned one of the highest ratings awarded in this inaugural national ranking. In Idaho, only seven hospitals were recognized — and West Valley Medical Center received the highest rating among them, highlighting its leadership in delivering high-value, high-quality care for the communities it serves.
Forbes developed this first-of-its-kind hospital rating system to help patients better understand where they can receive exceptional care. The rankings were built using nationally validated healthcare data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and analyzed by independent healthcare measurement experts. Hospitals were evaluated on key measures such as patient outcomes, safety, effectiveness of care, value, and patient experience. Clinical outcomes — including survival, complication rates, infections, and readmissions were given the greatest weight, and results were adjusted to reflect the unique challenges and social factors present in each hospital’s community.
“Being named a Forbes Top Hospital reflects the commitment our providers and colleagues bring to every patient, every day,” said Dr. Richard Augustus, chief medical officer at West Valley Medical Center. “We are deeply focused on providing care that is safe, compassionate and patient-centered. This recognition reinforces that our attention to best practices, clinical excellence, and patient-first care truly makes a difference.”
West Valley Medical Center continues to invest in advanced technology, innovative treatment options, and a culture of safety and collaboration. This recognition from Forbes affirms the hospital’s ongoing mission to provide exceptional care close to home.
