Support Groups

West Valley Medical Center Surgical Weight-Loss Management is a comprehensive program that includes before-and-after care for clients undergoing Lap-Band® (gastric banding) surgery. Our interdisciplinary team includes skilled surgeons, a nurse bariatric coordinator, as well as personalized nutrition and physical therapy consultations.

Your comprehensive weight-loss journey at West Valley Medical Center begins with an invitation to attend a free monthly Lap Band® support group, held the first Tuesday of every month at 6 p.m. in the Indian Creek Room at West Valley Medical Center.

Each meeting begins with a brief topic-specific presentation. Examples include:

  • Goal setting
  • The importance of physical activity
  • Nutrition information

The remainder of the hour is spent in group discussion, which gives participants a chance to share their experiences and have their questions answered.
