Heart Smart Seminar

It’s a new year, with more opportunities to recharge one’s health – starting with the heart.

Locals can learn about their specific risk factors and how to live a heart-smart life at the Heart Smart seminar Feb. 23 at West Valley Medical Center. February is American Heart Month.

The Collaborative Cardiovascular Care relationship between WVMC and St. Luke’s Heart, a Thomson Reuters 50 Top Cardio Hospital, presents this event led by St. Luke’s Heart specialists.

Screenings and Presentations

  • Starting at 5:30 p.m., guests can receive free cardiac risk screenings and nurse consultations. One attendee will win a free $75 fuel card. Refreshments will be available, too.
  • Beginning at 6 p.m., three cardioloigsts from St. Luke’s Clinic, Idaho Cardiology Associates, will present information on:
    • “Blood Pressure & Body Mass Index Matters” ― Murali N. Bathina, MD, FACC
    • “Making Sense of Cholesterol Numbers” ― James C. Field, MD, FACC
    • “Know Your risk for Peripheral Vascular Disease” ― Frederick M. Costello, MD, FACC
